Cool Concerns was set up in 1991 to provide both consultancy and training for the refrigeration and air conditioning industry. It is now run by the two working directors – Jane Gartshore and Stephen Benton – who are equal partners in the business. Jane Gartshore BSc FInstR MASHRAEJane started her career as a graduate trainee working on the test, design and development of commercial compressors and condensing units. She later moved into technical sales, preparing technical literature, carrying out training sessions, sizing equipment as well as troubleshooting and liaising with distributors world wide. Since 1991 she has carried out a wide range of consultancy and training work, specialising in energy efficiency and the application of natural refrigerants. She is currently president of the UK Institute of Refrigeration. Stephen Benton MInstR MIoD Stephen’s career in the refrigeration industry includes time spent in service, maintenance and installation roles for service companies plus commissioning and trouble shooting for an electronic controls company and a UK based manufacturer. Stephen entered senior management for a large commercial contractor and progressed to service director before leaving and setting up his own contracting business.
